» GYLON Gasketing

Garlock GYLON gasketing is truly a superior and unique material. The exclusive properties of GYLON gasketing are combined to deliver its superior performance to comply with today’s clean air requirements through sealability and torque retention. Asbestos-free GYLON gasketing routinely outperforms all conventional PTFE products by drastically minimizing gasket creep and cold flow problems. Typical conditions for GYLON gasketing are found in the food, chemical and petrochemical industry, pulp and paper plants and pharmaceutical industry. For special chemicals consult the chemical resistance chart or contact Garlock.

GYLON Style 3500 and 3501 E Standard

These general purpose gasketing materials offer significant advantages over conventional PTFE in regard to functionability at higher temperature/pressure combinations. Style 3500 and 3501 E GYLON gasketing conform to FDA specifications. Often used in chemical processing and hydrocarbon processing industries.

GYLON Style 3504 Blue

Style 3504 GYLON gasketing is very compressible due to its inorganic microspheres, thus sealing more effectively under lower bolt loads. This excellent gasketing material is ideal for use with glass-lined equipment and wherever lower bolt loads to effect an efficient seal are necessary. Can replace PTFE envelope gaskets in many instances. Conforms to FDA specifications.

GYLON Off-White Style 3510

Style 3510 GYLON has a very wide chemical resistance (the optimum of all the GYLON gasketing products). It is particularly suited for service against hydrofluoric acid and other strong chemicals such as potassium and sodium hydroxide, hydrogen fluoride, aluminium fluoride and chrome plating solutions. Conforms to FDA specifications.

GYLON Style 3545

GYLON Style 3545 consists of a highly compressible outer layer of microcellular PTFE and rigid PTFE core which reduced the cold flow and creep. Where by both components have been sintered together homogeneously. These materials are made of pure PTFE without fillers. Style 3545 provides a very soft surface, particularly suited for flanges with uneven surfaces and where bolts can not be tightened strongly.

GYLON Style HP 3560

Special GYLON gasketing with a perforated stainless steel insert for agressive chemicals and hostile environments where safety and blow-out resistance is essential
